The documents that you will require for tax saving investments are as follows: -
- You will require Life Insurance receipts under section 80C.
- Home Loan interest and principle repayment certificate from the bank under section 80C.
- You will need medical insurance premium receipts and preventive health check-up bills if you want to claim deductions under section 80D.
- You need to show you medical bills for claiming medical reimbursement from your employer, of any.
- Properly updates PPF passbook, in order to claim deductions under section 80C.
- You need to show Fixed Deposit Receipt to claim deductions under section 80C.
- Equity Linked Saving scheme fund statement in order to claim deductions under section 80C.
- Statement of mutual fund if subscribed for mutual fund units.
- You can claim deductions under section 80C by providing tuition fees receipts paid for the two children.
- Rent receipts, Landlord’s PAN or Statement of Declaration if your Landlord is not giving you PAN number when your annual rent exceeds Rs. 1Lakh and you want to claim HRA exemption.
- You need have your National Pension Scheme Pass Book to claim deduction under section 80CCD.
- Copy of National Saving Certificate in the name of self.
- Copy of travel tickets, to claim LTA.
- Donation receipts with the taxpayer’s name on it, in order to claim deductions under section 80G.
- You will require a certificate/proof of interest on Education Loan for claiming deductions under section 80E.
- For claiming deductions under section 80DDB or 80U, you will need doctor’s prescription or certificates of Government Authorities etc in case of disability or severe disability.
- You can claim deductions under section 80DD by providing the medical receipts for treatment of a handicapped dependent.
- Deposit receipts for senior citizens savings scheme, in order to claim deductions under section 80C.
- Any other savings investment receipts to get deductions under different sections.
- All these documents can be used to claim tax benefits.
