It is surprisingly common for people to forget their passwords. But don’t worry! You can retrieve your e-filing password by following these simple steps:
- Go to the AllIndaITR website.
- Click on the ‘Sign In’ link available on the right side of the menu bar to open the login page.
- Click on the ‘Forgot Password’ link. This will take you to a new page.
- Now, choose the way you want to reset your password. It can be done through email or your mobile number.
On Email
- Enter your registered email id and click on ‘Send OTP’.
- Open the AllIndiaITR message in your email inbox. You will find a ‘Reset Password Link’ in the email.
- Click on this link. You will be taken to the ‘Update your password’ screen on AllIndiaITR website.
- Enter your new password and re-enter to confirm it. Your password should be at least 7 characters long.
- Click on ‘Submit’. Now your password has been successfully changed.
- In case of a technical error, wait for 10 minutes and follow the above steps again.
On Mobile Number
- Enter your registered mobile number.
- Click on ‘Send OTP’ to receive an OTP in your message inbox.
- Now, enter the OTP.
- Type in your new password and re-enter to confirm it. Your password should be at least 7 characters long.
- Click on ‘Submit’. Now your password has been successfully changed.
In case of a technical error, wait for 10 minutes and follow the above steps again.
